Welcome to a full introduction to the Projector Human Design Type. You’re likely here because you have found out that you’re a Projector yourself and you’re ready to learn more – or that you have a Projector in your life and you want to find out more about them and how they tick. Either way, it’s great to have you here and I can’t wait to share more with you about the fabulous energy type that is the Projector.
So, first things first – in Human Design, you’re going to find out that you (or someone you know) is one of five main Human Design Aura Types (sometimes referred to as Energy Types). You can find your Human Design Type here: https://humandesignoracle.com/humandesignchart/
You’re going to see Manifestors, Projectors, Manifesting Generators, Generators and Relfectors in the Aura Types. You’ll see lots of info here on Human Design Oracle about the other four types – but today we’re going BIG on Projector energy. Read on to discover everything you need to know about the Projectorhood journey!
Now, to be clear before we go any further – I am writing this post from the perspective of being a Manifestor Energy Type myself. I count myself as lucky enough to be surrounded by a LOT of Projectors in my life. So I have asked my wonderful Projector Sister Rachael to help me out with some of the elements here that only a Projector’s aura would know about! Now let’s get to it!

Projector Human Design Type 101
Projectors have come to this world with an undefined Sacral Center. That’s the shape you can see on your Human Design Chart, one up from the Root Center at the base of your chart. With Projectors, Manifestors and Reflectors – we ALWAYS have an open center for our sacral. We’re the non-sacral beings who are simply not going to have the consistent energy of our brothers and sisters in the world who are Generator Types (sorry!). We’ll talk about this later on in the post in terms of how to manage your own energy and also how you can best interact with the energy of others.
Projectors are the Teachers, Analysts, High Level Administrators, Coaches, Consultants, Trainers, Talent Finders and CEOs of this world. You have been gifted with a penetrating aura that really ‘sees people’ for what they are, very quickly. You’re astute, clever, don’t stand for any nonsense and you can spot a faker a mile off! You’re built to nail the Leadership Role in a Business and to delegate to others. You will totally flourish when you’re working in a one-on-one environment – this is where your gifts will really shine.
Getting into it as a Projector Human Design Type
In Human Design, we have a different ‘Strategy’ for each aura type. This helps us to navigate our way through the world and our interactions with others as smooth as possible. The Projector Strategy is to ‘Wait for the Invitation’. This is a super interesting one – and not necessarily a passive thing. I will explain more below on how you can bring this Strategy into effect in your life to help you get the best outcomes that you desire.
You also have an internal Authority which will help you to make the right decisions in your life. Contrary to what you may have been taught all of your life, your mind is not the place to make your decisions from. You actually have a different way of making decisions which is right for YOU and we will go into deeper detail on this below!
And something to look out for…
And one final ‘101’ to touch on, before we move on – you have a ‘Not Self’ theme, when you know that you’re on the wrong tracks / barking up the wrong tree etc. This Not Self Theme for Projectors is Bitterness. Whenever you feel BITTER, this is your clue to change things up and move on. Staying in the mire is totally not going to help you and you’re never going to receive the right invitations for you when you’re in this state of mind. The signature for you as a Projector is Success. You will know that you’re on the right track, making the right moves and generally winning life when you feel Success – so this is your golden goal to be aiming for!

How to embrace your unique aura as a Projector Human Design Type
The Human Design Projector is a unique aura type within the Human Design system and it plays SUCH a crucial role in guiding others and making things happen. As a non-energy type, projectors have a specific strategy and aura that affect how they interact with the world and make decisions. Understanding the projector’s strategy, open sacral center, and knowing that waiting for the right invitation can lead to a more empowered and fulfilling life. It’s really important to recognise how different you are from the other energy types and how best to interact with others in order to get the best outcomes. Here’s a very loose ‘quick start guide’ to interacting with others that could be useful to refer back to!
Projectors interacting with Manifestors:
Projectors can be inspired / initiated by the Manifestor. You may work well with this energy type as you are both ‘doers’ who both love and need a good rest. Don’t try to tell the Manifestor what to do, as they may react in a negative way to that!
Projectors interacting with Manifesting Generators and Generators:
Understand that Manifesting Generators and Generators (as with all other energy types) don’t want unsolicited advice. Instead be your wonderful Projector self. Show off your skills, do your thing. Others will recognise you for that, rather than you needing to tell others what to do. You are more likely to ‘receive the invitation’ when you are rocking up fully as YOU, doing your thing. Be insightful, be the delegator, the teacher, the expert. But do wait for the invitation before telling someone what you think they should do.
Projectors interacting with Reflectors:
Reflectors need to take a while to make their decisions. Don’t push them into making decisions too quickly. Rather, be yourself, share your insights, but don’t tell Reflectors what to do unless they specifically ask you for your advice. And remember that if you do share your advice with the Reflector, it may take them a fair while to integrate and act on the advice – Reflectors should take a full lunar cycle before making any decisions so make sure you give them ample time and don’t rush them.
So, in summary, your insight and amazing instinct for what is right for people is valid and correct – but for it to actually LAND with people? Wait for their invitation to share it.
Putting yourself in lucks way as a Projector
As I mentioned above, I’m a big believer in action taking – even if your whole Human Design Strategy is to Wait for the Invitation. I believe that a whole lot of Projector talent is being hidden away because of the rhetoric around waiting. I believe what is best is for the Projector to put yourself in lucks way by getting yourself out there in the world and doing your thing. When folks know who you are and how fabulous you are, they are WAY more likely to ask you for your insights and for your help and advice.
Harnessing your Aura’s energy for success
Ok, this is a biggie. Along with Manifestors and Reflectors (and due to your undefined Sacral center) you are going to need to rest. A lot. This may look like taking a daily nap or making sure that you get enough sleep at night – but the bottom line is, as a non-energy type, you simply cannot expect yourself to keep going and going the way the majority of the worlds populations does (the majority of people are Generators and Manifesting Generators – making up about 68% of the popluation). As you are in a minority with your energy output, make sure you use it wisely, by avoiding long periods of work and allowing yourself to rest as and when you need to. Just trust your inner decision-making process from your Authority and you’ll be doing great.
Navigating relationships as a Projector Human Design Type
Navigating relationships as a Projector can be a beautiful journey of self-discovery and growth. Remember, your aura is magnetic and wise, drawing people to seek your guidance naturally. As a Projector, it’s crucial to surround yourself with individuals who appreciate your unique qualities and respect your need for rest and recognition. Embrace open communication with your loved ones to ensure that your emotional needs are met and so that you’re not ever made to feel guilty for following your true nature. By creating authentic relationships and setting healthy boundaries, you can navigate relationships with grace and wisdom. Trust that your inner Authority will guide you towards meaningful connections and relationships that align with your true essence and life purpose.
Connecting with other Projectors for support and understanding
As a Projector, finding solace in the good company of like-minded individuals can be incredibly beneficial for your growth and general well-being. Seek out other Projectors who understand the nuances of your Aura type and can offer support and guidance on your journey so that you can really celebrate your true self. Building connections with fellow Projectors can provide you with a sense of belonging and validation, knowing that you are not alone in navigating the challenges and gifts of your design. It can be easy to feel alone when you first discover that you’re a Projector, so definitely use this opportunity to find the safe space of communities led for and by soul-led Projectors. When you’re in communities like these, you’re going to get to see and celebrate all the beauty that comes from understanding the nuances of your Projector Aura.
The Authority Types for the Projector Human Design Type
As you can see when you pulled up your Human Design Chart (https://humandesignoracle.com/humandesignchart/), you have an inner Authority which will help you to make your decisions correctly for your Design. Let’s have a quick look at what those are right now!
Emotional = Your Solar Plexus provides your Authority.
With an Emotional Authority, you should allow your emotions to settle before making your decision. You may first react with shock, then happiness, then sadness, then delight – whichever emotion you settle into after a while, THAT’S your correct decision! No need to rush it!
Splenic = Your Spleen provides your Authority.
Splenic Projectors will need to learn to recognise the quiet, intuitive voice / nudge that gives you an INSTANT decision on how to move forward. This intuition is very much in the moment, and can be a quite voice, so learn to recognise it and take heed!
Ego = Your Ego (sometimes referred to as your Heart Center) provides your Authority.
This is very rare for Projectors but will present as the clearest voice for you to follow when it comes to making your decisions. The Ego is all about your will power to bring something into existence. And having the commitment to carry it out as you wish.
Self Projected Projector Human Design Type = Your G-Center provides your Authority.
This is all about your sense of self and can present as a confidence in yourself and who and what you are – trust this voice if you’re one of the Self-Projected Projectors and you’ll be onto a winner!
Mental = You have no defined centers below your throat.
This is an interesting Authority as it means you will need to speak out loud in order to reach your conclusions about what is right for you. Keeping things bottled up won’t work – instead, chat with those around you, or even on your own, just speak the words out loud and you will be able to reach your decision based on what speaking the words out loud reveals to you.
